Proud Rovers is run by Blackburn Rovers fans, for Blackburn Rovers fans. An inclusive group of LGBTQ+ supporters of all backgrounds and their allies, we strive to work closely with the football club to help make Ewood Park a space where all fans feel safe to be themselves.

About Proud Rovers

Founded in 2019, our group boasts over 100 members so far and we strive to continue to grow a supportive community where LGBTQ+ Blackburn fans and their allies can connect over all things Rovers, football and a desire to make positive change.

Mission Statement

At our core, we are committed to advocating for and empowering LGBTQ+ supporters and allies within the Blackburn Rovers community. Our mission is to cultivate an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and supported. We work towards achieving this mission by actively promoting visibility of LGBTQ+ individuals in our local, national, and international communities. Our goal is to establish a progressive alliance with Blackburn Rovers Football Club, and to enhance our working relationships with stakeholders and partners to ensure that our message of inclusion is spread far and wide.

Proud Rovers are a proud affiliate member of the Football Supporters Association (FSA) and supporters of the Fans for Diversity partnership between the FSA and Kick It Out. Like Proud Rovers, Fans for Diversity aims to celebrate the diversity of football fans and ensure everyone feels safe at the game regardless of sexual orientation, gender, age or any other protected characteristic.
